Risks That You Cannot Ignore

Rodents, including the common roof rat, sewage rat, and house mouse, are more than just a nuisance. They pose significant risks to your property and health. Ignoring early signs can lead to:

Health Hazards

Transmission of serious diseases (Leptospirosis, Hantavirus, Salmonellosis) through droppings, urine, and bites.

Property Damage

Costly destruction of wiring (a major fire risk!), insulation, pipes, and structural wood as they gnaw constantly to keep their teeth worn down.

Reputation Damage

For businesses, a single sighting can ruin your reputation and lead to regulatory fines, especially in the F&B sector.

Is Your Property Infested by Rodent?

Rodents are masters of stealth, often hiding in the hard-to-reach spaces of your home or commercial building. Catching the signs early is crucial to prevent rapid breeding and costly structural damage. If you notice any of the following indicators, it’s time to call the certified rat removal service experts at A-Flick.

Rodent Droppings

Small, dark, pellet-shaped droppings found concentrated in specific areas, especially near food sources, in drawers, or under sinks. Mouse droppings are tiny (like rice grains); rat droppings are larger.

Grease Marks

Dark, greasy smears or tracks along walls, skirting boards, and corners. Rodents have oily fur and often travel the same paths repeatedly, leaving visible residue.

Scurrying Sounds

Sounds of movement, often heard after dark, coming from your ceiling, behind walls, under floorboards, or near the kitchen cabinets. These sounds indicate active mice or rats searching for food.

Gnaw Marks

Small tooth marks, usually paired, on hard plastic, wiring, wooden beams, or pantry packaging (e.g., cereal boxes, pet food bags). Rats constantly gnaw to wear down their incisors.

Urine

Rodent urine, especially when it dries and builds up over time, releases a strong, stale ammonia-like smell. It’s often most noticeable as a stain in secluded, poorly ventilated areas like pantries, storage rooms or false ceiling.

Nesting Material

Piles of shredded material, such as paper, cardboard, insulation, or fabric, usually found in hidden areas like storage boxes, attics, roof spaces, or behind appliances.

Got Questions?

We use professional-grade, tamper-resistant bait stations that are strategically placed in areas inaccessible to children and pets. Our technicians are trained to prioritize safety while maintaining maximum effectiveness.

Initial control can take some time, primarily because rats (the most common type of rodent in Singapore) are highly neophobic—meaning they are naturally wary of new objects, like our traps and bait stations. This caution means it takes longer for them to interact with our devices. Complete eradication and successful long-term exclusion can take 4 to 8 weeks, depending on the severity of the infestation, as we also need to ensure all entry points are proofed.

Rats are generally larger and have thicker, longer tails. Mice are smaller, have larger ears relative to their body, and usually have very fine hair on their tails. Knowing the difference helps determine the most effective control method.

DIY methods, mainly trapping, can certainly remove a few active rodents, providing temporary relief. However, they almost never solve the root cause of the infestation. A-Flick’s professional service focuses on the most critical part: identifying all entry points (exclusion). Without proper exclusion and environmental modification, the problem will quickly return. Leave the complete solution to the experts at A-Flick.

While A-Flick offers guaranteed service quality, we cannot offer an outright “warranty” on long-term prevention, as we cannot control the surrounding environment (such as neighborhood sanitation or construction work) which can always introduce new activity. However, our commitment to you is clear: If new rodent activity is detected within the contractual period, we will return for a follow-up treatment at no additional charge. This ensures you receive effective, ongoing protection throughout your service term.

The best prevention is exclusion (sealing entry points), diligent sanitation (never leave food out, clean up spills immediately), and proper rubbish disposal. Do not leave pet food out overnight. Our trained technicians will access your situation and provide prevention tips relevant to your premises.
